The UPFA nominated the national list MPs yesterday, which included 7 representatives who lost after contesting the General Election. 5 persons who were included in the nomination list which was handed over to the Election Commissioner prior to the Election, have been included in this national list. Accordingly, the defeated candidates who were entered in the national list are Vijith Wijayamuni Soyza, S.B. Dissanayake, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Thilanga Sumathipala, Angajan Ramanadan, and M.L.A.M. Hisbullah. In addition, Doctor Sarath Amunugama, Dilan Perera, Malith Jayathilake, Faizer Musthafa, A.H.M. Fowzie have been nominated for the national list. However, it is noteworthy that former MPs who were previously nominated to the list including Professor G.L. Pieris, DEW Gunasekara, Professor Tissa Vitharana, Tissa Attanayake, J. Sri Rangaa, Reginald Cooray, Jeewan Kumaranatunga, Tiran Allas and Professor Rajiv Wijesinghe have not been nominated for the national list. UNP too handed over their national list comprising 13 representatives to the Election Commissioner yesterday.
